How to Level Up Gardening & DG Rank Fast in Heartopia
Master your progression by optimizing your Gardening exp and efficiently farming D.G. Member Contribution Medals.
Progression in Heartopia relies heavily on two primary systems: individual hobby proficiency (like Gardening) and your overall account progression known as the D.G. Member's Guild Rank (Development Grade). Leveling both of these efficiently is crucial for unlocking more planter bloxes, new seed varieties, and accessing the majority of the game's features. Here is our complete step-by-step guide to power-leveling through the early game hurdles.
How to Level Up Your DG Member Rank
Your D.G. Member Rank dictates your overall progression in Heartopia. Advancing your rank unlocks new hobbies (like Insect Catching or Birdwatching), expands your home plot options, and triggers new Main Story quests. To level it up, you need to collect Contribution Medals.
1. Complete the 5 Daily Resident Requests
This is the most reliable source for your daily Contribution Medals. You can accept and complete up to 5 requests each day (resetting at 6:00 AM server time). These tasks usually involve gathering basic materials, catching a specific fish, or helping out NPCs around the island. Missing a day means missing a chunk of guaranteed EXP, so make this your top priority upon logging in!
2. Follow the Main Story Quests
Progressing through the main storyline quests not only explains the lore of the island but grants huge bursts of Contribution Medals. Whenever you have an active Main Quest available on your tracker, be sure to complete it.
3. Look Out for Weekly Tasks
Check your task menu (via the Watch/Phone interface) for Weekly objectives. While daily requests give steady progression, completing your weeklies ensures you don't fall behind and provides a massive boost to your D.G. Rank bar.
Once you hit the required number of Contribution Medals for the next level, you won't level up automatically. You must open your Watch Menu, navigate to the D.G. Member's Guild tab (indicated by a star icon), and click the "Upgrade" button manually.
How to Gain Gardening EXP (Proficiency) Quickly
Gardening is one of the most profitable hobbies in Heartopia, but it starts off slow. Reaching Level 4, 7, and 10 will progressively unlock more planter boxes allowing you to increase your yield. Here is how you can farm Gardening Proficiency Points optimally.
The "Active Play" Strategy: Short-Growth Crops
When you are actively logged in and running around the island completing quests, you should focus almost entirely on short-duration crops. Seeds like Tomatoes or other 15-minute variants are your best friends here. You earn Proficiency Points for planting, watering, and harvesting. Cycling 15-minute crops four times an hour will yield significantly more EXP than planting a crop that takes an hour to grow.
- Tip: Set a 15-minute timer on your real-life phone to remind you to harvest and replant so you never waste growth time!
The "Offline Play" Strategy: Long-Duration Crops
When you are preparing to log off for work, school, or sleep, completely swap your strategy. Determine roughly how long you will be away (e.g., 8 hours) and plant crops that take around that long to fully mature, such as Lettuce or specific flower seeds. This ensures your garden is still earning you points while the game is closed.
Discover First-Time Harvest Bonuses
Heartopia rewards you with a one-time burst of bonus Proficiency Points whenever you harvest a new crop type or achieve a new star-quality level for an existing crop. Make sure your garden rotation involves trying to grow at least one patch of every seed type available in the store as soon as you unlock them!
Clear Your Weeds
Don't neglect the random weeds that pop up around your planter boxes. Weeding is considered part of the gardening gameplay loop and contributes slightly to the overall health of your plot, making sure your crops grow without negative status effects.
