Check skin tones after the sixth counted session.
Do not count an attempt just because you entered the sand. Wait for the roughly 60-second interaction to finish and look for the Sunburned status confirmation. If the special weather icon is missing, save your attempt for a qualifying period.

Look for the sun wearing sunglasses. The English label is reported as Scorching Sun or Scorching Heat depending on the client wording.
Go to the canyon portal
Search the nearby beach sand for the Sand Bath interaction. Use the Whalefall Canyon entrance as the stable landmark.
Stay for about 60 seconds
Do not leave early. A short timer or temporary state may appear while the interaction is running.
Confirm, then stop
Look for the green umbrella-style Sunburned status. Record one valid session and return on another qualifying day.

Open the mirror's skin-tone controls after the sixth confirmed session. Current players describe the pink/red tone as a wardrobe customization unlock.
Is it permanent?
Best current answer: the unlocked customization appears permanent, while the method of obtaining it is seasonal. Player results show the blush and skin tone remain selectable in the mirror after the weather ends. Call of Whales is currently scheduled to end on August 22, 2026 at 5:59 AM server time. Complete the unlock before the acquisition window closes; the live event panel is the final authority for your server.
